There are many people that don't understand what the Mormon Church is all about. Those that know of it and believe in it also believe that it is the super church and then there are all those that claim is nothing but a fallacy.

To begin with the book of Mormon is supposed to have dated back before 600 BC to 421 A.D. This was during a period of three distinct civilizations being the Lamanite,Mulekite, and Nephites. The Morons believe that in 600 BC that there was a Jew who led a group of people to the Americas. This Jew was called Lehi, and these three tribes were supposed decedents of this individual.

Mormonism places a great deal of emphasis on the neophyte profit Mormon and his son Moroni. As the story goes there was war that was breaking out amongst these and Mormon apparently wrote all of this historical events history hid them in a hill within the New York State.

Now there are supposed to be three very basic purposes of the Mormon book. One is to promote Christ and his purpose as being the Savior. The second is to teach the doctrines of the Gospel. The third is to stand as a witness that Joseph Smith was chosen by God to create the latter day restoration.

It must be realized that if one is to accept the Mormon book as being the ultimate word of God then it means that the Bible has no credence or value and is to be discredited.

Now one must remember that the book of Mormon was written by Joseph Smith who purports himself as being the chosen one of God through the entire writing. The skeptics about the book of Mormons make the argument that that there is just no basis and no proof or evidence for any of the information that it contains. Any reference to the King James Bible has been taken out of context. The Mormons will claim that their book has been used by the Smithsonian Institute who refute that claim.

Now the 10th president of the church happens to be Joseph Fielding Smith who of course upholds all of that which the Mormon church stands for. He believes so strongly in the book of Mormon that he challenges if the book is a fallacy than it should be exposed as such. What might be found interesting is that there have been 4000 corrections made in the book of Mormon up to date.

Prophesies That Did not Come True

Any faithful Mormon will boast of the many prophecies that have existed throughout their religion. What they will not boast about is the many that did not come true at all. Christianity according to our Bible talks in great detail of what is the credentials of a prophet. One of the things that the Bible will tell you is that if a prophet is speaking in the name of the Lord and his prophecy does not come to pass then the prophet is not a true prophet.

So it comes down to being cut and dried meaning the prophecy is either 100% correct or it is not a prophecy. It should be noted that the president of the Mormon church is placed himself as a revelation or is sometimes referred to as a prophet or seer.

Although many of the prophecies that were made by Joseph Smith went by the wayside there were some that were pretty embarrassing. Out of many of those was the prophecy regarding the temple and Zion. According to Joseph there was to be a new temple which would be the beginning of Jerusalem built in the Jackson County Missouri area. As of this date there has been no such temple.

Another one of Joseph the great visions was that he prophesied that Jesus would return in 56 years again another fallacy of many.
