We can explain the meaning of faith in many diverse manners. Faith is a state of mind where it can be taken as a belief or taking a particular thing or subject as true in mind without much of questioning.

It is an abstract state of intellect when one has the faith in the next family member or a close friend or a belief in God. Faith is a matter to be felt and can never be explained.
The holy Bible explains it in a more correct way, which is that faith, is the sole mechanism to understand mysteries of the world and to achieve knowledge about it. Faith is the obvious ray of hope for things that are yet to be received or seen. The common viewpoint about faith is the belief in the religious side as well as in mind as a feeling for others.
Whenever, we explain faith, the touch of religion is normal. Every religious human being has the faith on the supreme power, which he thinks, is the center of all power on this earth or universe. The Muslims, have the belief that in the early days when there was nothing, there was Allah, the God, Prophet Mohammed. He was sent by the God to rule and give directives to human beings. They have the idea that there remains a paradise and there is one Allah, the supreme power or prophet Mohammed. Nobody has seen the God and they have the faith or belief that everything is true and that is faith.
This is also true for the Christianity. In this religion, the faith has several episodes and instances and is displayed in such a manner that it seems faith is still working. It is believed that the God is the supreme authority, who is responsible for the creation of the world and all other things in the world. They are all inscribed in the holy Bible and the followers of Christianity have faith that they are all true. Here also, nobody has seen God yet they have the faith that it is all true and this is faith.
The followers have the belief of the existence of heaven. According to the Bible and through the great will of God, the Christians will make it to the heaven when they die and the followers still believe this as true, which is faith. The people who are not allowed in the heaven will have to go to hell which is a dreadful place full of fire. Christians have faith in the religion and find everything to be true and follow the Bible and make regular visits to the church. They do so because they think that by doing this, they would be given entry to heaven.
The powerful demonstration of faith can be seen in the Muslims, when recently, they involved in beheadings which were covered through electronic media for the international audiences. These are the works of extremists, who are adamant to exhibit that even the slightest variation from their way of living would not be considered at all, which do not corroborate to their beliefs.
