Religious artifacts are the most sought after treasures in the world. Throughout history men and women have spent years, billions of dollars, and even their lives searching for epic religious artifacts that would turn the pagan world on its ear.
Religious artifacts can be anything with religious connotations a decorative cross, a portrait of a saint, a rosary, and especially Bibles. But the religious artifacts that people are eager to get their hands on are the ones that are more legend than evidentiary fact. These are the artifacts that are spoken of in the Bible but have never been seen by modern eyes.
The Ark of the Covenant is one of the oldest religious artifacts in history. The Ark of the Covenant is a large golden box commissioned by God to be built by the Jews after their exodus from Egypt. This box was to contain the two stone tablets on which God carved His Ten Commandments for the Israelites. This box was so holy that any man who touched it was immediately struck dead much to the pain of one man who sought to steady it after it began to fall to the ground. The Tabernacle and later the Temple was to be built with a special room called, The Holy of Holies, where the Ark would be kept. The Ark was the earthly seat of God where He would descend from heaven and give His commands to His people.
The glory of God, the Shekinah Glory, would come down once a year to receive sacrifices. The Ark was a religious artifact that was to be held in awe and reverence and never used for selfish purposes. This is one of the most important of all Jewish religious artifacts, and to find it would mean tremendous blessings for the people of Israel.
The Ark of the Covenant was carried into battle by the troops of King David and later by Solomon. It was later stolen by invaders and never seen again. Many believe that the Ark is hidden beneath the ruins of the old temple, which is the current Temple Mount and site of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Some believe that the Ark is being guarded by a small group of African priests in a church made of mud and rocks. The Ark of the Covenant is a religious artifact that has tremendous power, and has the potential to be a power for good or evil maybe its a good thing that no one knows where it really is.
Religious artifacts have the power to heal, destroy, and bring hope and faith to those who seek them. Religious artifacts are legendary, awesome, and inspire new generations of believers to have faith in the God of their fathers.
