Leather bound bibles are very popular, and many different households all over the world own them. They are an incredible insight into the world that surrounds everyone, and will open up people's eyes providing them with a huge amount of knowledge. Choosing the right style of bible may seem daunting, and having leather bibles will bring comfort to many.
The Bible was not originally in English, and in fact, it was not in any modern language at all. The Original Old Testament was written in Hebrew, and had small pieces that were in Aramaic. Although it is believed that Jesus originally spoke Aramaic, the New Testament was originally produced in Greek. Many of the original leather bound bibles from this period are in fact still in this language. Today, the Bible has been translated into thousands of different languages, and dialects.
There are several different methods of translation for the leather bound bible, and literal translation is very popular. This will ensure that a huge majority of the text and phrases are kept the same, however, this can make it harder to understand, and difficult to read. Another method of translating the leather Bibles is to allow thought for thought translation. This method of translation tries to allow for a historical distance, however, keeps up to date with languages, and grammar.
The last method of translating the Bible is to include the actual ideas from the original leather bound Bibles. Although this method of translating is readable it is not always precise, and the information may become jumbled. The most popular English translated Bibles are the 1611 version, and are used by both Protestants, and Roman Catholics. There have been several different revised versions over the years, and many different styles of leather bibles to choose from.
Reading the Bible may seem like a lengthy process that is often seen as a chore rather than a pleasure. However, the Bible has become far easier to read, and there are many great audio versions available. These allow people to enjoy the Psalms in full glory ensuring that they are understood as well as heard. If audio Bibles are not suitable there are several other types available, and these will suit all reading abilities.
Traditional leather bound bibles will often have text only, and minimal footnotes within the book. If the Bible is to be a study Bible, there will be extensive footnotes, and cross-references to ensure that the reader is well aware of the proceedings during the readings. Children's leather bound bibles are excellent, and will include illustrations, and simplified stories for them to understand easier. Although many households will own only one leather bound Bible it is worth owning more than one.
Owning different versions of the leather Bibles will enable the reader to have different perspectives of the story. This allows minds to be opened further, and learning curves to be explored more. There is so much that people do not fully understand, and it is believed that the bible can help to enlighten them. Leather bound Bibles are not expensive, and can be given as a gift to friends, and family. Allowing more people to read, and begin to want to know more about God.
