Taking Part in Family Scripture Study

When you are attempting to read scriptures as a family on a consistent basis you have to be sure that you are wise about this process. You do not want to force this habit on your family so that they will end up resenting the scriptures that you are trying to read.
Although you do not want to force this on those that are not interested, you should be firm about your house rules. You can make scripture study a part of living in your home to ensure that everyone in your home has exposure to the scriptures.
First, you want to make sure that you understand how important it is to take the time that you need to find age appropriate scriptures. You may have a wide range of ages in your family and you should cater to the younger ages.
You want to be sure that everyone is able to understand and comprehend what is being read. Taking the time to understand how you are going to be smart about what you have learned is very important.
You will want to find a picture book or story book of the scriptures that you are interested in reading to ensure the young children understand the stories. Help them to understand the moral of the stories that you are reading to them.
Making sure that you are taking the time that you need to understand what they are getting out of the reading is important. You should be sure that you are taking the time that you need to make them relatable and understandable for your children.
When your children start to get older you should make sure that you are taking the time that you need to adjust your scriptures. There are many different ways that you can continue to read the scriptures that you have been reading to them since a young age.
As your children get older you can eve start to ready from the actual scriptures. This way, they will be familiar with the language that is used and they will have a broad knowledge and understanding of the scriptures.
You should also make sure that you are taking the time that you need to understand how you are going to keep everyone interested. Helping them to understand the stories and stay engaged will determine your success with scripture reading.
You may find that you will want to read the scriptures to your children on a daily basis. Or, it may be that you want to take turns reading to make sure that everyone is able to read throughout the time that you are sitting together.
There are a lot of people that have a hard time understanding how they are going to help their young children read scripture stories. There may be hard words throughout the scriptures but it is important that you understand how you can continue teaching your children to read.
Make sure that you are taking the time that you need to be patient with your young children. You have to make sure that you are taking time to teach them the proper pronunciation of the words so that they can understand the stories.
When they do not understand something make sure that you pause to help them understand what is going on. The more that they are able to understand the better off you will be in the long run when you are trying to teach them principles from the scriptures.
You should also make sure that you are setting a consistent time that your family is able to read scriptures. You want to be sure that your family understands that scripture reading is going to take place at a specific time and place.
Make sure that you understand how you are going to be wise about the time that you set. Some families like to do their scripture reading before school and there are some families that like to do their scripture reading before bed.
You want to be sure that you understand how you are going to be wise about what works best for your family. Cancelling scripture study or not reading on a consistent basis will teach your children that there are many things that should come before this.
Be wise about the habits that you develop for your family when you are attempting to read scriptures on a regular basis. Take the time that you need to find the best habit or your family.
