Wedding Dress With A Single Grab
My mom and I woke up very early that morning and drove from Cocktail Dresses to Atlanta for this sale and I am so glad we did. We didn't get there right as the doors opened and when we got there I was a little discouraged because all the gowns were off the racks. But I just stayed calm and tried on dresses as other brides were giving them up. It took us acouple of hours but we eventually found the perfect gown and it doesn't even need alterations. It was originally priced at $2500 but I got it for about $400. I was so excited that day and I still am!
Lisa Chappelear (event perfect) from Atlanta, GA says... It was an amazing scene - I showed up at 7am to pass out bottled waters to the thirsty brides in an effort to generate some business for my event planning company. I made my way upstairs to the top Long Prom Dresses entrance to watch the opening of the store at 8 - what a rush!! Posted: 8/12/2003
from says... In 1978 I went with my mother and sister to the Downtown Boston Fliene's basement. At the time we were living about 45 miles away so this was a big trip! We had no experience at this! After arriving mid morning we slowly made our way to the lower basement. There was a large crowd but not in the thousands. Dressed rather summery in bright orange pants and a very vivid striped shirt I tried on a couple of dresses, right in the aisle. By dress #4 I (we) made a choice.........for $39.95........the dress was beautiful, cream color with a train that went over the head. (The train was brought to a dress maker. she was able to piece the head opening together to make a head piece. SO for the $39.95 I had a dress and veil with a train.) We then went over to shoes, purchased those then to the upper basement and found a going away outfit. The day was finished by going to lunch which cost more than my dress!!! Over the next year I went back 2 more times with friends. One purchased hers for $19.00 and the other for $29.95. We are now ready to go back with daughters and future daughters-in law! A piece of advice......... we had all gone to "Bridal Salons" and tried on different Graduation Dresses and colors.
