So This is What Evangelism Looks Like!

We see everything with new eyes when we put our trust in Jesus Christ, and we want everyone we know to see things as we see them As we share the truths of God's Word, the Bible, and tell others about Jesus, we try to make ourselves clear, and often seek help from people we look upon as experienced

So This is Evangelism!

The definition of evangelism given in the dictionary is: "1) the preaching or promulgation of the gospel; the work of an evangelist" 2) "missionary zeal, purpose, or activity" 3) "militant zeal for a cause" By this definition, some Christians may think that they don’t have to evangelize because they don't hold the "official" title of preacher, evangelist or missionary

Do You Want to Know What Evangelism Is?

Many Christians put evangelism into the job description of pastors, missionaries and evangelists, without considering the possibility of them having a part in it as well According to the dictionary, words like "preaching," "work of an evangelist," and "missionary zeal" might offer security in their thinking, since they might not have any of those names as their own official titles

You walk up to someone, and hand him something that gives the Gospel message Which is easier, to hand over a tract, or a step-by-step evangelism video

The Picture of Evangelism

When we become believers in Jesus Christ, we begin to see everything in a new light We have a desire for everyone we know to share the same belief and hope, so we begin to tell people about the truths of God, His Word the Bible, and Jesus Christ

With today's acceptance of "safe sex," more and more young people are playing with fire, and are getting burned Consequences are an after-thought, but it's often too late

"Safe sex" is promoted in just about every junior high and high school today, so young people are playing around with something dangerous, and are suffering the consequences They don't take into consideration what the consequences might be since they are following the basic encouragement to do what they want

When examining kids' church curriculum, I've found that there seems to be a consistent list of objectives I've narrowed it down to three primary objectives: • Salvation-- The goal is to help children understand their need for salvation • God's Word-- The objective is to teach kids that God's Word is the absolute truth • Behavior-- The idea is to teach children how they should act according to the Bible stories they learn

In teaching and researching kids' church curricula, I think that the main purpose of many of them boils down to three basic steps: • To teach kids the need for salvation • To teach kids the truth of God's Word • To teach kids how Christians should behave by application of the Bible's stories The question I find myself asking when looking through the curriculum is: What is the central focus in each purpose

Personal Evangelism Becomes Personal to Me

After spending a magnificent vacation in Florida, some relatives and I declared that it must become a tradition to return again when possible The scenery was breathtaking, and we knew that we could never tire of the location
