Although he was not one of the main philosophers we have studied, Charles Darwin and his theories and ideas have greatly influenced American philosophy as we know it. Even ask Auguste Comte (Positivism), John Fiske with his "Law of Evolution", Chauncey Wright with "Genesis of the Species", and John Dewey's "Darwin's Influence on Philosophy."

From Jonathan Edward's idea of a coherence theory of truth to Thomas Jefferson's ideas of politics and government to Thomas Paine's "Common Sense", American philosophy has changed and has been expanded upon much throughout the centuries. When Transcendentalism gained recognition, though, the ways in which people began to think became much different.

Although most scholars believe that Paul was not the author of either Colossians or Ephesians, both books of the Bible contain Pauline characteristics and qualities. They also possess similar structures and metaphors. These books contain "Household Codes" for husbands, wives, parents, children, slaves, and masters to live by.

How was this universe created? Was it created with a purpose by God? Or was it caused by a series of 'accidents' or random occurrences in which life was created and had evolved? There are many different theories on the subject, but the most popular and most debated is Darwin's theory of evolution. Even so, which theory is correct and is the one to be believed in?
